As the agency reports, its experts evaluated the economic potential of every state with an account of expenses spent on innovations, scientific discovery productivity, efficiency, research concentration, high-tech companies, and a patent registration index. In the end, Russia had 78.85 marks and occupied the 12th position in the rating. As to the index of research company concentration, it has 27 marks – more than all the others. France, Israel, Austria and Norway are at the same level.
South Korea holds the esteemed 1st place, whilst the second and third are Germany and Sweden. Japan is fourth, and Switzerland fifth.
