The arbitration court of the Moscow region has dismissed a 4.6 bln claim from KNAUF

In particular, the document states that the Germans demanded that the “Gipsopolimer” company from Perm pay 2.3 bln roubles, the “Prikamskaya Gipsovaya Kompaniya” trading house 1.5 bln roubles, the “Prikamskaya Gipsovaya Kompaniya” LLC 815m roubles, and the ERSTER trading house from the Moscow region and “GlavOptStroyTorg” from Kostroma should pay 5m  roubles each.

Beside this, KNAUF demanded the prohibition of the usage of symbols confusingly similar to its trade marks, and the seizure and destruction of pirate gypsum plasterboards with the disputed symbols.

The court in the first instance fully dismissed the claim. However, the full text of the court’s decision isn’t available so far. Additionally, it will take legal effect in a month.

The German KNAUF company sells gypsum and gypsum-fiber plasterboards, dry gypsum construction mixes and dry cement construction mixes in Russia, as well as primers and other construction materials.
