Which Russian cities have faced troubles with hotel construction for the World Cup 2018?

This is what Lana Klyueva, the chief operating officer of Match Accommodation — the official agency providing accommodation for the World Cup 2018 — said today in Saint-Petersburg. According to her, the most alarm is in such cities, as Kaliningrad, Rostov, Samara and Saransk.

Another participant of the press conference, the vice president of the Association of Restaurant and Hotel Keepers of Russia, Vadim Prasov, has also indicated Volgograd as a problem city. There, many investors have either “abandoned their plans, or can’t physically perform the work”.

No doubt, many cities hosting the World Cup 2018 have a sufficient quantity of hotels. However, not all objects have met FIFA requirements. At the same time, optimal conditions could be observed in Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Kazan and Sochi, he stressed.
