Kaluga highway reconstruction boosts infrastructure-building activities in region

Within the framework of the Kaluga highway reconstruction, 9 overpasses, 5 bridges, 4 transport tunnels and 18 non-surface pedestrian crossings are planned to be constructed.

The highway is expected to be fully reconstructed in 2018, the press office of the Moscow construction complex told Construction.RU on Wednesday.

At present, the work is underway on the site. The first stage of the reconstruction includes the building of four tunnels with the length of 20 – 29 km, three bridges across the Sosenka River with the length of 170 m and four 600 meters overpasses at the section.

The second stage of reconstruction, from 29 to 49 kilometers, envisages the building of five cross-overs within transportation junctions. Two bridges will appear – across Desna and Pakhra rivers.

Once the reconstruction is completed, the Kaluga highway will become a ten lanes motorway.
