The 24-story building collapsed as explosives detonated at 2 a.m. on Tuesday. Demolition of Monaco Tower located at Riviera has turned out into a dramatic show as it was accompanied by colorful fireworks and fanfare.
The explosion was perfectly controlled and carried out without any incident.
The $10 million hotel was built in 1955, but in 2015 it was bought by the LVCVA for $182 m. to purchase it in February last year. Following the building’s demolition the LVCVA will move forward with the new Las Vegas Convention Center District.
