Following the death of Zaha Hadid at the beginning of this year, her firm has been developing plans to construct the tower in the Marina District, jointly with engineering firms Arup and Atelier Ten. The project is expected to be completed by 2020.
The 200 rooms hotel is designed in the form of a flower native to the Arabian Gulf region and has a nine-pointed shape with a bulging podium at its base.
After the death of Zaha Hadid, ZHA has announced several new projects, including a new central business district in the capital city of Czech Republic and a technopark in the Moscow region.
