Belarus disproved information about emergency at NPP construction site

The Agency states that at present the reactor pressure vessel is outside the reactor unit. The prime contractor is expecting the regulatory approvals for its assembly. There are no technical restrictions for its installation

To remind you, a number of Belorussian and foreign media published the information by the United Civil Party of Belarus about the reactor collapse during its installation on July 10th in the reactor unit of the NPP under construction. Then, the Embassador of Belarus in Lithuania was handed a note with the demand to present full information on the incident.

Belarus NPP is being built in partnership with Russia near the Belorussian town of Ostrovets (Grodno region) 50 km away from Vilnius. It will consist of two WWER-1200 type reactors with total capacity of 2,400 MWt. The industry commencing of the first unit will occur in 2018, the second will be put in operation in 2020.
