According to the Ministry’s representative, Senior Col. Yang Yujun, the exercises will be “routine” ones and will be conducted with the purpose to develop strategic partnership between China and Russia. “The exercise is not directed against third parties”, - he stressed.
Meanwhile, the scheduled drills will be the first joint China-Russia exercises in the South China Sea.
Earlier in July, Hague international tribunal considered a case, which was brought by the Philippines regarding China’s maritime claims.
