Why Japan plans to heavily invest in India

“The relation between India and Japan has never been better. Our bilateral relation has been strengthened and members of parliament have contributed towards it,” stressed the Minister.

In particular, Suresh Prabhu indicated that Japan was going to invest in such areas as high-speed rail service and manufacturing sector and India would benefit immensely from it.

Previously, 12 parliamentary delegations visited Japan, under Indo-Japan Strategic Dialogue Program, with the purpose to strengthen economic, political and cultural relations between the two countries.

Japanese ambassador to India, Kenji Hiramatsu, said that the relations between Tokyo and New Delhi was increasingly expanding and a number of initiatives were being taken in the area of the high-speed rail and civil nuclear cooperation.
