Mexican president “makes it clear” to Trump, who pays for Big Wall

However, despite Trump’s persistent appeal to make Mexico pay for the construction work, which he had voiced over the course of the past year, the question of who would finance the project, wasn’t discussed with Enrique Peña Nieto, Donald Trump claims.

According to the U.S. presidential candidate, an estimated cost of the wall building is between $15 bln and $25 bln, The Washington Post reports.

“We did discuss the wall. We didn't discuss payment of the wall. That'll be for a later date,” said Trump at a press conference held in New Mexico after the negotiations had been over.

At the same time, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto said later that the issue of the wall building financing had been raised, but he had “made it clear” to Trump that it wouldn't be Mexico.

“At the start of the conversation with Donald Trump, I made it clear that Mexico will not pay for the wall,” CNN cites Peña Nieto’s tweet.
