One thousand people protest against building oil access pipeline in North Dakota

Apart from the locals, people from all over the USA arrived there to take part in the protest action.

The residents of the area, local tribes, claim that the project poses a danger to water supplies and demand to block the project, which is estimated at $3.8 billion. According to the plan, oil will be supplied through this pipeline from North Dakota to Illinois.

The Standing Rock Sioux tribe initiated a claim against the decision of the US Army Corps of Engineers to issue permits at over two hundred water crossings. The project's advocates insist that advanced technologies will let quickly find out potential leaks of oil.
