The Indian Railways intends to exploit new rail coaches with glass ceiling and infotainment systems in its efforts to upgrade the old-fashioned trains, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation announced yesterday. The new train coaches are expected to be introduced in selected trains from December of 2016.
As IRCTC Chairman and Managing Director A.K. Manocha put it, these luxurious coaches were expected to promote tourism in India. He produced an example of Switzerland, which glass ceiling trains encourage tourist to visit the country.
