Vancouver resolves housing crisis by means of temporary modular units

On the 24th of October, the city Mayor Gregor Roberston visited one of these living spaces, as he toured a display unit established by Horizon North, who will construct a three-storey, 40-unit modular housing complex at a city lot near Main Street and Terminal Avenue.

According to Gregor Roberston, modular housing will meet the demand of homeless and low-income people in Vancouver. The tenants are expected to pay about $800 monthly, but people with fixed incomes will be subsidized with their rent payment as low as $400 per months.

The idea of the project is that that modular housing will not be permanent, what would allow turnover of low-income residents.
