On Tuesday, a Deputy Defense Minister of Russia, general Dmitry Bulgakov, unveiled the plans regarding development of Russian military infrastructure in the Arctic region.
According to him, construction of Russian military infrastructure in the Arctic region is unique in terms of arrangement of building and mounting activities, logistics and delivery of cargoes. It’s the first time in Russian modern history that the activities in such a scope are being carried out in conditions of the Extreme North.
At present, a project of permanent airfields, such as Tiksi, Anadyr, Temp and Vorkuta, operating in the Arctic zone, is in the planning stage.
