Russian Foreign Minister names condition for Turkish Stream 2nd string extension

“After the South Stream failure we will be ready to extend this string to the territory of the European Union only when we receive unequivocal and official written guarantees of the project realization,” said the Minister speaking in Moscow at a meeting with European Business Association.

He noted that, according to experts, in the near future the EU member countries would find it difficult to get along without Russian energy resources.

Sergey Lavrov reminded that Russia and Turkey signed an intergovernmental agreement on Turkish Stream, which, among other things, envisages construction of a gas pipeline towards Europe and Greece in particular.
