Amnesty International signs new rental contract in Moscow

“I’d like to acknowledge the efforts made by Mikhail Fedotov (the head of the Human Rights Council of Russia), with the help of whom we managed to establish a constructive dialogue with the Moscow City Property Department. It's another matter that this is a bureaucratic organization and we won’t be able to enter the premise for 16 days. However, we are moving in right direction. Today, I sign a new rental contract,” Sergey Nikitin told reporters.

We should remind you that on the 2nd of November, the Amnesty International employees found their Moscow office being sealed off, the locks are changed and the alarm system is switched off. The city authorities claimed that the organization infringed terms of rental payment.
