This statement was made by a member of the Russian Parliament’s Committee for Energy and the former Vice Prime Minister of the Crimean Government, Mikhail Sheremet, speaking to reporters today in Simferopol. According to him, at present, there is no problems with Siemens Corporation.
We should remind you that earlier Kommersant newspaper reported that Tekhnopromexport had allegedly contacted the police of Saint Petersburg and said that the company couldn’t get equipment from Siemens that had already been manufactured and paid. That equipment was necessary for construction of thermal power plan in Taman.
The essence of the conflict was that the German concern feared the equipment to be supplied to power stations under construction in Crimea, upon which Western countries had imposed sanctions.
