Solar 3D printer to be created for construction activity on Moon

By the end of 2018, the university’s specialists plan to develop and produce a working prototype for a robotic system printing 3D objects, which is designed to operate on the Moon.

A stone made out of moon soil is to be used as a construction material. Such stone covering will protect modules delivered from the Earth from dust caused by the rocket engines’ operation.

Apart from that, these artificial stone objects will be capable to function as a navigation system on the Moon’s surface. However, the most rational option of the Moon exploration will be construction of underground facilities.
