This is what Ursula Borak, the director for European and international energy policy at Germany’s Ministry of Economics and Energy told Sputnik today at ENES 2016 international forum.
According to her, Nord Stream 2 belongs to the companies and it’s up to them to decide, whether to abandon it or not. Ursula Borak stressed that the German government was unaware about what kind of decision the companies will take.
As a reference, Nord Stream 2 project provides for construction of two strings of gas pipelines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters.
