10-year infrastructure expansion plan approved in Vancouver

The plan is estimated at $2 billion and is expected to be realized within the next ten years in the area of Vancouver.

According to the document, new bus routes will be created. This includes HandyDART services for people with mobility issues. Apart from that, overcrowding on transit will be reduced and rail service improved.

$370 million will be invested in the project on the part of federal authorities and $246 million will be allocated from the regional budget. TransLink will pay the balance of $1.3 billion.

As a result of the improvements, there will be an increase in property taxes and fares.
