Soviet-era housing in Afghanistan costs more than new buildings

“Today, a construction boom could be observed in the center of Kabul. A large number of building contractors from Afghanistan, as well as from India and Nepal operate there. Meanwhile, the real property built by Soviet engineers and builders as far back as the middle of 1980s is an average twice as expensive as these new buildings”, said Mr. Green.

He added that the difference could be explained by the quality of housing under construction.
