MHT unveils the way to transport successfully oversized separation tank

The separator tank was 9 meters high and 8 meters in diameter. The cargo had to be transported from the AFC plant to the facility located 4.5 km away. The route was a complicated one, including hairpin bends, gravel roads, crossing a railway and passing under a high-voltage power line.

The tank was placed on a 6-axle heavy-duty modular trailer towed by a tractor, having been secured with eight chains.

The first part of the journey was on public roads. They were closed to traffic as the width of the cargo necessitated driving on two lanes. In order to make the vehicle pass under the high-voltage power line, the power cables were raised with the help of technicians from the local utility company.

To pass through an overhead pipeline 6 meters above the ground a crane was used to lift the separator. Finally, the tank was delivered safely at its destination.
