Plant producing Kalashnikov assault rifles in Venezuela to start operation in 2019

“We expect that in 2019, the plant producing AK-103 rifles and ammunition will start operating at full capacity. That is, those issues that used to be two or three years ago, have now been resolved”, Dmitry Rogozin told reporters during his visit to Venezuela.

“We have changed the contractor, all Russian equipment has already been delivered completely. The building is not completed yeat. Now we have chosen Venezuelan contractors who will finish the work”, he added.

As a reference, AK-103 is an export version of AK-74M for 7.62 mm cartridge of Soviet design.
