Medvedev and Yildirim agree to intensify Russian-Turkish cooperation in energy projects

“Over the course of the discussion, the parties discussed the implementation of agreements on development of bilateral cooperation reached that have been concluded during the talks held on December 6, 2016 in Moscow. An agreement was reached to intensify joint work on major projects in the energy sector, including the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant and the construction of “Turkish Stream” gas pipeline”, - noted the representative of the press service.

According to the source, the prime ministers confirmed the mutual intention to take concrete measures to facilitate mutual access of Russian and Turkish goods to the markets of the two countries.

Also, Dmitry Medvedev expressed his condolences in connection with the recent terrorist attack in Istanbul. The parties stressed the importance of combining efforts in the fight against terrorist threats.
