LaGuardia Airport to be redesigned, placing passengers over planes

New design implies passengers walking above moving airplanes as they head to their gates at the modernized facility. The distance from curb to gate will be reduced by an average of 300 feet. More upscale dining and retail outlets are also expected to be located in the airport, a decision caused by New Yorkers reluctance arrive there early.

The airport’s redesign is scheduled to be completed in summer of 2022.

As the project’s chief executive, Stewart Steeves, put it, one of the objectives is to create a space, where “people make a conscious decision to say.”
