Japan’s consumer prices see consistent decline

In November 2016, consumer prices, without including the cost of fresh food in Japan (the Bank of Japan pays attention on this indicator) dropped by 0,4%, compared to the same period last year. Rates of the decline have not changed since October.

Experts interviewed by Nikkei, expected a decline of an average of 0,3% last month. In November, Japanese household spending dropped by 1,5% in per year terms, the decline has been observed for nine consecutive months against the background of a slow rise in wages.
