Until recently, the company had been operating in this African country through its subsidiaries Overseas Cote d'Ivoire E&P, LUKOIL Overseas Cote d'Ivoire Block Cl-504 and LUKOIL Overseas Cote d'Ivoire Deepwater.
As it was reported earlier, Lukoil had been carrying out its activities in the Gulf of Guinea since the year 2006 and was an operator of maritime geological surveyance projects at CI-401, CI-205 and CI-504 blocks.
In December, 2011, high-gravity oil pool and natural gas liquids deposits were discovered in Independence field at CI-401 block.
