Nicaragua builds earth station for Russian GLONASS satellite navigation system

This information was revealed by the institute’s press office on Monday. It was specified that the station would gather measurements not just from GLONASS, but from other global navigation systems as well.

It is noted that the first preparations for the construction took place in 2014, and the construction contract was signed in 2015 in Managua (Nicaragua).

Earlier, Deputy Head of the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos), Sergey Savelyev, also talked about plans to build new stations for correction and monitoring of GLONASS signals in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Nicaragua.
