Ex-Deputy Culture Minister of Russia pleads guilty in embezzlement

“Pirumov has fully admitted his guilt on all accounts and gave a detailed confessionary statements. He started to pay the inflicted damage,” the judge said.

We should remind you that ex-Deputy Culture Minister Grigory Pirumov is charged with embezzling 100 million rubles ($1.5 million) of public funds intended for restoration of cultural heritage objects in Russia. Among them, there is a famous Novodevichy Convent in Moscow, proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

According to investigators from the Federal Security Service (the FSB) of Russia, the final indictment was brought in to all defendants in the case and soon the investigation would be completed.
