Hungary builds second line of fencing on Serbian border to keep migrants out

Earlier it was reported that the Hungarian government plans to begin construction of the fencing in spring, fearing an influx of large numbers of migrants. For this purpose it plans to spend about $131 million.

According to the representative of the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Department, Janos Lazar, the construction should commence as soon as weather conditions permit, and should be completed by early summer.

In 2015, about 400 thousand refugees and migrants arrived on the territory of Hungary, mainly heading to Germany and other Central European countries.
