Greece asks World Bank for financial aid to tackle unemployment

According to the European statistical agency, Eurostat, Greece has the highest unemployment rate among Eurozone countries. According to the latest assessment as of November 2016, the figure accounts for 23%.

The Greek authorities intend to allocate funds received from the World Bank to the creation of about 100,000 jobs over the next three years. The representative of the World Bank confirmed that the request from Greece was received.
