CEO of the Indian branch of Xiaomi, Manu Jain, announced that the plant would be located in the city of Sri, in Andhra Pradesh state, the East of India.
According to him, after the construction is completed, the production capacity of Xiaomi in India will allow to release one smartphone per second, Xinhua news agency reports. Xiaomi entered the Indian market in July 2014. After that, the company began to actively localize production, taking advantage of the state program “Make in India”. By the end of March last year, 75% of Xiaomi products sold in India, were produced within the country.
