“When one comes to Sergiyev Posad, he realizes that this is the pearl of Russian town-planning traditions. One can see historical homes that have slanted roofs, very interesting bends of the river, beautiful views of the Trinity-Sergiyev Lavra. The same must be done by us. This means that the streets should not be direct, it is necessary to create public squares, to build houses with flat roofs and sloping,” Sergey Tchoban said over the course of a workshop with developers held in the Construction Ministry of Russia.
He also proposed to adopt the experience of the Russian cities of Yaroslavl, Suzdal and Veliky Novgorod.
