“An official opening and commissioning of the terminal is scheduled for early June. Its area will cover 47,000 square meters, what exceeds the territory of the existing terminal twofold and will increase the airport's capacity from 3,5 to 8,2 million passengers per year”, — the statement released by the company reads.
As it was reported earlier, in 2015, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev gave an assignment to start construction of a new terminal of Astana international airport, as well as to reconstruct the runway. The construction activities are carried out within the framework of preparations for 2017 EXPO international exhibition.
