The deal, estimated at $7.5 billion, is expected to be closed as early as the third quarter of the current year. The document provides for the transfer of Panera debt obligations to JAB totaling $340 million.

In the year 2016, JAB Holding has acquired an international chain of coffee shops and confectionaries, Krispy Kreme. In 2015, it bought a brewing company Keurig Green Mountain for $13.9 billion. JAB Holding also owns Caribou Coffee and a controlling stake in Peet's Coffe & Tea.
