The plant manufactures Camry and employs 8,200 employees. Recently, the company hired 700 employees for the launch of new Camry in 2018. The plant will become the first in North America, which will use a new platform, Toyota New Global Architecture.
In 2016, the plant in Kentucky has released about a quarter of the total volume produced in North America – about 500,000 cars.
These investments are a part of the plan to invest $10 billion in the manufacture in the USA over the next five years, the company emphasizes.
