“There was information that we were selling all of these stations... Developing a strategy for 10 years, our strategies made an offer for the sale of the retail network, but the Board did not agree,” — Alekperov said at a meeting with Russian President, Vladimir Putin, RIA Novosti reports on Thursday.
He stressed that Lukoil was upgrading its gasoline filling stations.
Also, Vagit Alekperov noted that the company was selling its assets in a number of countries: in Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia and Poland, but, at the same time, Lukoil was expanding its presence in other countries, such as the Netherlands and Belgium.
