“The project is connected with the fact that at the federal level subsidies are calculated on the basis of sales, that is why our flax producers cannot cope with the task set for the planting season”, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Omsk region, Maxim Chekusov, said.
The Ministry proposed to support agricultural producers by paying subsidies in two phases: until June 1 — 40% of the total amount of the subsidy (its size will be calculated based on the planned volume of production and sales of flax in the current year), and until to December 25 — the remaining 60% (based on the actual volume of flax produced and sold in flax fiber).
Maxim Chekusov also added that the regional Agriculture Ministry intended to find an investor for building a plant for flax deep processing in the Omsk region.
“At present, we are searching for investors for the construction of deep processing plant. We consider attracting partners from China, because that's where the technology of flax fiber production is developed,” he said.
