Kerch Bridge builders start erecting navigable arches

“The first sections of the ascending part of an arch of the bridge’s road part have been erected,” the press release reads.

As noted, 20 out of 38 sections of arches have been erected on the railroad part of the bridge. Both arches are constructed on the technological platform in Kerch.

As a reference, a19-kilometer bridge will become the longest one in Russia, it will connect the Crimean Peninsula with mainland Russia by road and railways. The throughput of the four-lane highway will amount to 40,000 vehicles per day, while that of the railroad one will include two ways with a capacity of 47 pairs of trains per day.
