“It is encouraging that, despite the outright Russophobic actions of these countries (Lithuania and Poland, — editor’s note), the local authorities neighboring with the Kaliningrad region, see an interest on the part of their residents to continue to communicate,” Sergei Lavrov said at a meeting with acting Governor of the Kaliningrad region Anton Alikhanov.
“Not to build walls, as the Lithuanians are going to do, or not to interrupt cross-border communication, as the Polish government has done,” the Minister stressed.
According to Mr. Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Ministry will take steps to ensure that “cross-border contacts between people who live "across the street", next to each other, are not affected by the political situation”.
