This is stated in the annual report of Rosatom Atomic Energy Corporation, a regulatory body of the Russian nuclear complex.
“A contract with Egypt is completely ready for signature,” the report quotes the first deputy director general of Rosatom, Kirill Komarov.
According to the document, the Corporation expects that this year the EPC-contract will be signed and will enter into force, as well as contracts on NPP life cycle will be concluded.
In 2015, Russia and Egypt signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the construction of Egypt’s first nuclear power plant in the area of El-Dabaa. The nuclear power plant will include four power units with a capacity of 1,200 MW.
