German manufacturers against politisation of North Stream 2

German manufactures argue against politisation of the North Stream2 project. Michael Harms, Executive Director of the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations, told journalists about it in Berlin. The project will help to recompense the decreasing rates of natural gas production in Europe, he said.

The construction of the North Stream 2 main is to start in 2018 and complete in the end of 2019. The 1220-km-long pipeline will be laid on the bottom of the Baltic Sea from the Russian to the German coast.

The capacity of each of the two lines is 27.5bln cubic meters a year. The new pipeline will double the capacity of the first North Stream. The main will connect the Russian resource basis with European consumers directly.
