The open letter, signed by the speakers of Moldova and Ukraine, describes Nord Stream 2 as “a factor of destabilization.” The gas pipeline is called “a political tool aimed at making the EU dependent on a single source of energy.”
According to Dodon, such statements are another manifestation of phobia on the part of the ruling regimes of these countries, “including the leadership of the Moldovan Parliament.”
“It is NATO expansion, not the gas pipeline, that is a factor of destabilization factor,” Dodon claimed. He cited the opening of NATO offices in neutral countries, expansion of the Alliance’s contingent and its military drills.
