Putin and Merkel talked on the phone about the Nord Stream II construction

“The position of Russia and Germany has been confirmed with regard to the execution of a major mutually beneficial project in a gas sector — the Nord Stream II,” the report says.

As a reference, Nord Stream II is a gas pipeline passing from Russia to Germany via the Baltic Sea with a length of 1220 kilometers and a capacity of 55 billion cubic meters per year. The gas pipeline laying is scheduled to be launched in 2018.

Earlier, Gazprom has announced that its gas export has surged by 6.2% compared to the previous two months and is estimated at about $7 billion. As previously reported, the gas holding’s revenues from exports of this blue fuel grown by 22% in 2017 compared to the level registered in 2016.
