The permit for commissioning was issued by the Federal Air Transport Agency of Russia. According to the agency, this is an official confirmation of the fact that the new airport complex can already accommodate its first flights. Also, the new terminal of the airport Simferopol received a conclusion stating that the facility meets all technical requirements.
Thus, starting from 8 am on April 16, departures and arrivals of all flights of Simferopol Airport will be carried out in the new terminal with an area of 78,000 square meters. The complex is located six kilometers from the currently operating terminal. With the introduction of the new terminal, the airport’s capacity will increase up to 6.5 million passengers per year.
