Russia and Japan begin to cooperate on “Smart Cities”

This is stated in a message published on the official website of the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation. It notes that a concrete plan will be elaborated this fall. So, within the framework of expanded cooperation, Russian specialists will study latest achievements of Japanese companies in the field of urban technologies with a view to their subsequent implementation in Russian cities.
In particular, the matter concerns “smart traffic lights”, which will appear first at 40 intersections in the Russian city of Voronezh. As Andrey Tchibis explained, Russian regions have already shown their interest in “smart traffic lights” and, in his opinion, this will lead to real projects.
