400 malls closed in Russia after fire safety checks

This was reported on Wednesday by Interfax news agency with reference to the head of the Department for Supervisory Activities of the agency, Rinat Yenikeyev. He has explained that such a decision was made by the court in relation to 391 shopping centers. At the same time, more than a quarter of the malls have corrected the detected violations ahead of schedule.

A total of 63,000 public places have been inspected.

“To date, more than 62,000 inspections have been conducted, with 30,000 serious shortcomings identified and more than 260,000 violations of fire regulations detected”, Yenikeyev added.
