Thus, the court has granted Gazprom’s motion, agreeing with the existence of grounds for suspending the arbitration award enforcement. According to the earlier decision of Stockholm Arbitration, the Russian holding company was to pay Naftogaz $2.56 billion.
Its suspension means that the arrest of Gazprom's assets in Switzerland and the Netherlands can be lifted. However, the latest decision by Svea Court of Appeal does not mean the cancellation of the verdict and Gazprom still has to prove its necessity.
