A newly elected President Vladimir Putin has instructed the Russian government to increase the volume of housing construction to at least 120 million square meters per year.

According to a decree defining goals and strategic tasks of the country's development in the next six years, these results must be achieved by 2024. The document explains that the task of increasing the volume of housing construction should be taken into account when developing a national project in the field of housing and the urban environment.

We should remind you that today, on the day of the Russian President’s inauguration, the outgoing cabinet headed by Dmitry Medvedev resigned. Later, after his accession to the presidency, Vladimir Putin nominated Medvedev's candidacy for the post of Russian Prime Minister. This was stated in a message published on the official website of the Kremlin.
