Russia’s first Viessmann plant for industrial boilers put in operation

The enterprise’s opening ceremony was attended by an owner and president of Viessmann group of companies Professor, Dr. Martin Viessmann, CEO of the Group Joachim Janssen, Sales Director in Eastern Europe Artur Ulrich, Director General of LLC Viessmann Lipetsk Heiko Schäfer, Deputy Director for the factory’s commercial issues Sergey Kozlov, CEO of Lipetsk special economic zone Ivan Koshelev, and Director General of LLC Viessmann Russia Marius Schubert.

Also, the head of the Lipetsk regional administration Oleg Korolev and Russian Presidential Envoy in the Central Federal District Alexander Beglov took part in the ceremony.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Martin Viessmann has noted that the opening of Russia’s first plant is a milestone in the company's history, in particularly, it is notable for the fact that this year the company marks its 100-year anniversary. The decision to invest in Russia was taken in 2015 for economic reasons, as Russian market has great potential.

Answering a question of our correspondent about a price difference between industrial boilers manufactured in Russia and those previously imported from other countries, the President of the company clearly said, “We won't dump prices unlike our competitors”.

The factory plans to increase the production volumes and expand the range of produced boilers. In conversation with our correspondent, Marius Schubert has noted that, last year, the sales volume of industrial and domestic boilers in Russia amounted to €50 million in financial terms.

The company hopes that the opening of the enterprise in Lipetsk with the production capacity of 300 boilers per year will ensure a multi-fold increase of this amount. He has stressed that the office, which he heads, has been operating in Russia for 20 years and has an extensive experience in housing sector, construction of Olympic facilities in Sochi and stadiums for 2018 World Cup.

It is noteworthy that Viessmann products, both industrial and domestic, are popular not only in northern regions of Russia.

Viessmann company has offices in 12 countries where its 23 plants are located. Turnover for the year 2016 reached €2.25 billion. Currently, the plant in Lipetsk employs 44 people. As soon as it reaches a full capacity, 65 jobs will be created.

The volume of investment in on-site construction and the enterprise’s equipment amounted to €22 million. The plant is located in a special economic zone, where 18 factories of different companies from the USA, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Russia etc are operating.
